Immune Support During the Winter Months

For most of you reading this, the weather is changing fast, the days and nights are cooler, the leaves are beginning to fall. Some of us feel our energy falling, and possibly our sleep with the diminishing hours of sunlight.

This is also the time of year where colds and flu increase. We are hounded by ads telling us we need a flu shot. I won’t be getting one. In this blog you will find what I will be doing.

Here are my tips for October to assist your body and immune system in adapting to the seasonal changes, and the health challenges that come with this time of year:

Time to Raise Vitamin D: Taking vitamin D is probably the most important thing everyone can do to protect their health this time of year and all through the winter months. You will want about 5000 IUs per day. Some need more, especially in the darkest winter months.

Del Immune To The Rescue: The best supplement I know for raising immunity and protecting and clearing colds and flu. I suggest taking the 25 mg size 1-2 a day. Though I take the 100 mg size when I get a cold or flu.

Immunity and Intestinal Health with Probiotics

Probiotics are a key factor for your immunity and digestive health. Everyone should be including probiotic supplements or probiotic foods often in their diet. I love Del Pro. Del Pro is an active probiotic formula that has a small amount of Del Immune added to each capsule (Del Immune IS NOT an active probiotic).

Premier Probiotic Caps is another excellent choice.

Get Proactive and Cleanse Your Liver: This is a very good time of year to cleanse your liver. Everyone should do this at least once a year. We have two great choices. Water and Hydration: Last but not least, keep hydrated. This is one of the easiest and most important things you can do to avoid becoming ill, especially from cold and flu, and to prevent all kinds of aging diseases as well. Begin every day first thing, by drinking a minimum of 2 full glasses of warm water. Then wait at least 30 minutes before eating breakfast. Throughout the day continue to drink adequate water between meals.
